Work Name:Slimline Pencil - \"Blue Jean\" (Denim)
Work Experience:
The first thing I tried after creating a pressure pot was to resin cast strips of blue jean (denim). The jeans were purchased from a Salvation Army. I took the jeans home and cut strips the size of blanks and cast under pressure.
Work Description:
Once this blank was created, it was drilled and turned like normal. Being an unusual material, I had to stop and apply a CA coat to re-harden the blank. Turned again and repeat until the blank was to the shape. Denim material soaks up CA. It took 6 coats of CA before finish sanding could happen. I\'m pleased with the result of this rather unusual material.
